Under what circumstances is a gas-tightness test necessary, and what is the difference between it and a hydrostatic test?
It is specified in 11.3.2 of HG/T20584-2011, but it seems that many manufacturers do not conduct airtightness tests for media that are explosive; they only carry out pressure resistance tests. What do you all think?
A gas-tightness test is a type of leakage test; containers whose contents are extremely toxic, highly hazardous, or for which leaks are not permissible require such tests. As the name implies, it is used to determine whether there are any leaks in the container, while a hydrostatic pressure test is used to assess the strength of the equipment. There is a fundamental difference between the two.
When the working pressure is less than 0.6 MPa, a gas tightness test can be conducted
I saw that HG/T20584 states that it is necessary to consider conducting a leakage test, but how should this be determined? Is there any clear standard? Is there also a pressure test that is more stringent than a airtightness test, and can it replace the airtightness test?

The airtightness test is primarily used to check whether there are any leaks at the various connection points of the container. Pressure vessels with a medium toxicity level that is extremely hazardous or highly hazardous, or those for which minor leaks are not permitted by design, must undergo a gas-tightness test. The airtightness test should be conducted after the hydraulic test is successful. For pressure vessels whose design requirements call for a pressure test, the airtightness test can be carried out simultaneously with the pressure test, and the test pressure should be the same as that of the pressure test.
