As the title suggests, I would like to ask the experts: In the standard NB47014, how should we understand the requirement for conducting impact tests? 1. Under what circumstances is it necessary to perform impact tests on the test specimens? 2. Does this requirement refer specifically to welded parts, which is why impact tests are required for those specimens? 3. If impact tests are not required for the welded parts but still carried out on the specimens, will the range of allowable base metal thicknesses be reduced?

There are several situations in which this is required: when specified by the raw material requirements, when required by the customer’s technical specifications, when specified in the drawings, and when required by safety technical standards. 2. Does this statement refer to the requirement that welded parts undergo impact tests, thereby necessitating such tests on the test specimens? . This is a process evaluation, aimed at welds. 3 If impact testing is not required for the welded part, but the specimen is subjected to impact testing, will the range of allowable base metal thicknesses decrease? No. For example, in the case of the austenitic stainless steels that we use commonly, during the process evaluation it is possible to conduct impact tests at -196°C; such tests are carried out only when necessary, as required.
Austenitic stainless steel is only considered to be in a low-temperature environment below -196 degrees Celsius; it is not subjected to impact at -196 degrees.
For welds. . It needs to be done below -100°C. .
I have a question regarding weld evaluation: Can the weld evaluation for a butt weld joint made of 20# pipe and 20II butt weld flanges be used to cover the weld joint of 20# pipes butted together? (20# pipe – No impact test was conducted for the pipe butt weld evaluation)
