Help: How to determine the discharge pressure for the emergency pressure relief manhole in large internal floating roof oil tanks?
The pressure to be released through the pressure relief manhole should be selected to be less than or equal to the design pressure of the storage tank.
It is determined by the design institute when selecting the equipment; not only the design pressure of the storage tank needs to be taken into account, but also the operating conditions of the tank system. I have seen tanks with a capacity of 5000 cubic meters for which the pressure is around 1 kPa
