Clause 5.6 of GB50160-2008, the Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises, stipulates that the \"supports\" for steel structure equipment must be provided with fire-resistant protection measures (i.e., coated with fire-retardant paint or equipped with a fire-resistant layer). My question is: do the equipment’s saddles, legs, and ears count as \"supports\"? If we consider them to be \"supports,\" then do the equipment saddles, legs, and ear mounts that meet the requirements of clause 5.6 also need to be fire-resistant?
Legs are needed; the saddle and brackets are not required. If it really catches fire, given the location of the saddle and the supports, the cylinder body will be damaged first.
In my opinion, non-standard leg-type supports can be considered brackets, while saddles and ears do not qualify.
The saddles and lugs may also be ignited by running fire; therefore, in our design, we apply fireproofing to the saddles, lugs, legs, and skirts of equipment within the aforementioned range.
If you walk around the factory, you will find that the saddles of the horizontal containers are not fire-resistant. The tower skirt and the legs of vertical vessels need to be fire-resistant.
Indeed, as mentioned on the 5th floor, many factories have only provided fire protection for the skirt bases; they haven’t even installed supports, let alone equipment mounted on low saddle bases
Horizontal containers are equipped with static electricity grounding at their supports, which is also intended to prevent fires caused by static electricity. Generally, in the design of horizontal containers, no other fire prevention requirements are specified.
Decide as appropriate based on the specific circumstances; generally, fire protection for ear mounts and saddle mounts is not very necessary.
