The last training session of this year is over; let me share my thoughts.

The content is not as good as before, which is related to the lack of significant updates in the main regulations over the past few years. Reform in the industry is causing anxiety from top to bottom. It is clear that the Review Committee is also confused about the future, but it is doing its best to hold things together. The exams have been held, and the dissemination efforts continue. Personally, I support such presentations; they feature the top experts and scholars in the industry, and listening to their lectures is extremely beneficial. Moreover, most of these experts come from top-tier engineering design institutions, possessing extensive practical experience which is reflected in their lectures and answers to questions. It can be said that dissemination brings tremendous benefits to both individuals and the industry. **Everything is often handled in a one-size-fits-all manner, which often leads to negative consequences. Raising the price of pork to the level of ‘Tang Seng meat’ for environmental reasons is an example of this; therefore I believe that people will calm down from their blindness and start to treat specialized industries such as those involving pressure vessels with seriousness. Finally, I hope these training sessions will continue to get better and better.
What kind of training class is the poster referring to? Is it continuing education?
I agree. Now all special equipment has been merged, with one gas cylinder association in charge of administering the examinations. Fortunately, there is no elevator association managing the training certificates for those who design and inspect boilers and pressure vessels; that’s a stroke of luck amidst all the bad news. Haha, it’s really interesting – isn’t that quite unique?
I feel that regulation these days is not as good as it used to be.
This is a transition toward a fully design-free ASME model where the manufacturer is held responsible. However, under domestic realities, such a shift may bring about new problems.
