As the title indicates, the company manufactures heat exchangers, and the tube sheets require cladding welding. For DN1100, the 14Cr1Mo(H)Ⅳ surfacing layer is composed of 309L+347; it is required that the dimension of the surfacing layer on the tube side of the tube sheet after processing be 7.5 mm. However, surfacing may cause deformation of the tube sheet, as well as uneven thickness in the surfacing layer, with some areas possibly not reaching 7.5 mm. Are there any experts who have experience in surfacing tube sheets made of Cr-Mo steel? Could they provide some guidance on the process?
For tube sheets that require cladding, reverse deformation treatment must be carried out during the forging process. Waiting until it’s processed before doing surfacing will definitely cause deformation. There are many manufacturers in Jiangsu that can perform surfacing welding. Ask your forging supplier and give it a try.

If there is only one tube sheet, measures must still be taken to reduce welding deformation
If you require high precision for the tube sheet, you need to leave machining allowance in the forging, and machine the back side after cladding is completed! Accuracy is definitely guaranteed. Using strip welding will definitely cause deformation.
