When starting the centrifugal blower in our facility, both the inlet valve and the outlet valve are closed first; then the motor is started. Within ten seconds after the motor starts, the outlet valve is opened, and subsequently the inlet valve is opened according to the process requirements. What is the purpose of each of these steps?
Closing the inlet and outlet valves and starting the motor is done to reduce the starting load and protect the motor. The outlet valve is opened first to prevent excessive pressure from damaging the equipment. The inlet valve is adjusted according to the process in order to control the gas flow rate and pressure and meet the operational requirements. .
