There is currently a storage tank with a diameter of 4 meters and a height of 4 meters. The lower head is an elliptical head with a thickness of 16 mm. When using support-type bearings, it was found that the allowable vertical load on the lower head was insufficient; since increasing the thickness of the head is not desired, C8 type ear supports were used instead. However, it turned out that the allowable bending moment for the tank body at those support points was not sufficient. Is there any solution to this problem? Is it necessary to use supporting supports and increase the thickness of the head?

The situation you mentioned does exist. However, your information is incomplete – the weight of the medium, the seismic loads, and the number of supporting bearings are needed. If your original plan was to use 4 bearings, changing it to 6 will suffice, and this will make it workable.
