On the path of design growth, we always make some mistakes; some of these mistakes can be forgiven, while others are truly due to human error. And the absurd things we discover in reality only make us feel helpless. The second installment on bizarre designs is here! The purpose remains the same: it is not to mock any designer, construction company, or individual, but merely as a warning and for reflection. Figure 1: The actual design temperature parameter for a certain device should be 50°C, but the nameplate incorrectly states “-50°C”. (Ask friends in manufacturing or production units – is it possible to obtain a usage registration certificate in this situation?) ) Figure 2 shows the installation of the foundation bolts for a certain device, with uneven protrusion lengths. Figure 5: Once again, I’m seeking advice from experts in manufacturing/processes and piping: a: Can reducer pipes be connected in series? b: Eccentric reducer; I’ve seen those with eccentricity at the top or bottom, and this is the first time I’ve seen one with eccentricity on the left and right. I know that most of those who come in to read the posts do so as a joke. In any case, speaking from the heart is for sharing, and the purpose of sharing is to provide guidance and warnings. We respect design as well as the organizations that use it; so regarding images, it’s sufficient to just take a look at them. As we move from youth to maturity, and look back at these so-called \"pleasing\" photos, we laugh at first but then fall into reflection. While sharing is great, I’d rather see people’s reflections after laughing in the comments. Thank you.
It seems there was a deviation during the construction process; there’s a big gap between the plans and what was actually implemented

First image: The parameter shouldn’t be +50℃; the ammonia liquid separation tank should be designed for low temperatures, but the wrong material was used. Fifth image: I’ve seen reducers connected in series before, but this way of installing them is truly bizarre :)
Its design parameters should actually be “-10/50℃”. The result was written as -50℃
Thank you to the original poster for going the extra mile to collect these issues; they can be sent to our designers so that such mistakes are avoided in the future.
The nameplate is a very important component, and the inspection authorities should also take some responsibility. Those in the pressure vessel equipment field should generally not readily criticize the design work of the piping field, after all, the differences between the two fields are quite significant.
The disconnect between design and installation is widespread in construction projects.
It’s no problem to directly weld two butt-welded reducers together; as for the one that is off-center to the right, it’s likely that the workers on site lack experience
On-site construction sometimes involves some compromises; in fact, for connecting pipes of different diameters in series, I think this approach is used when time pressures exist and the available materials aren’t suitable for the task. The main issue is that the eccentric bottom part isn’t positioned at the bottom of the pipeline
