I would like to ask the experts: for spherical tanks used for storing liquefied hydrocarbons, should the pressure gauges be installed at the top or at the bottom of the tank? In some of the tanks in our storage area, the pressure gauges are located at the bottom, while in others they are at the top. Is there any specification that addresses this issue?
There should be a pressure gauge at the top, while the one at the bottom of the spherical tank is probably there to measure the liquid level.

To ensure accurate measurement, the pressure sampling points must be representative. If selection is to be made, it should be on straight pipe sections with stable flow rates, not at bends or dead ends in the pipeline ； The pressure tapping tube should generally not extend into the equipment and pipes ； There are also certain requirements regarding the installation location of the pressure tapping points. Taking horizontal or inclined pipes as an example: First, when the medium is gas, in the upper half of the pipe ； II. When the medium is steam, within an angle range of 0 to 45 degrees from the horizontal center line in the upper part of the pipe, it is preferable to be on the horizontal center line of the pipe ； III. When the medium is a liquid, it is in the range of 0 to 45 degrees relative to the horizontal centerline in the lower half of the pipeline. If constrained by certain conditions, a more appropriate location can be chosen based on the actual situation.
Pressure gauge. A pressure gauge is installed to measure the pressure inside the spherical tank. Considering situations such as pressure gauges failing for some reason or being removed for inspection, a pressure gauge should be installed at both the upper and lower parts of the sphere.
