Most of the stirrer motors found in reaction vessels are horizontal type B series motors mounted vertically; vertical type V series motors are rarely used. The main difference between vertical and horizontal types lies in the lubrication and cooling of the motor bearings. Theoretically, vertical V-series motors are better, but in practice, horizontal B-series motors installed in a vertical configuration have also functioned without any problems.
