There are no specific regulations mentioned anywhere regarding this. The plug welding holes must not be too small – they should be over 10 mm in size. The spacing between them should also not be too large; 100 mm is an appropriate value.
If the inner wall of the container is lined with stainless steel, the stainless steel will be covered in numerous defects. The workload is huge.

Reference can be made to the provisions in JB/TQ267-81 \"Technical Requirements for Plug-Welded Liner Equipment Made of Chromium-Nickel Austenitic Stainless Steel\" (which has been repealed), as well as those in the Technical Specifications for Chemical Engineering Drawings. The arrangement of the plug-welding holes in the lining layer is related to the equipment temperature and pressure. Since it is prone to damage during lining pressure testing, it is best not to use it on equipment with a diameter greater than 1000 mm.
