Questions about molten salts

I would like to ask: In industry, a molten salt (HTS) with a composition of 43% sodium nitrite, 7% sodium nitrate, and 50% potassium nitrate is commonly used. How was this composition determined? Is it because this ratio is the optimal one? Is the main advantage of this ternary molten salt over the binary molten salt (60% sodium nitrate + 40% potassium nitrate) its lower freezing point?
