An electromagnetic heater is used for heating crude oil (containing gas) at the wellhead; the heating element does not come into contact with the oil and gas. Is this type of electric heater considered a pressure vessel? I consulted many electric heater manufacturers, and none of them had the qualifications for handling pressure vessels. It’s unclear now; the boiler inspection agency doesn’t care either, and it’s not clear whether it is a pressure vessel or not.
Operating pressure: 0.5–1.5 MPa
According to clause 1.3 of the standards, two requirements have been met; now we need to check the other one. If it is met, then yes; if not, then no!
Check whether the volume meets the requirements of the capacity specifications
As long as the diameter reaches 150 mm and the volume reaches 30 L, it falls under the jurisdiction of the classification regulations. .
May I ask, does a diameter of 150 mm and a capacity of 30 L refer to the pipe section used for storing oil and gas, or to the outer diameter and total volume of the entire container?
If there is an exit while in use, it is not considered a pressure vessel.
1. Is the inner diameter of the intermediate connection greater than or equal to 150 mm, and is its volume greater than or equal to 0.03 cubic meters? If not, it falls outside the scope of application of these regulations on fixed capacity. 2. If the conditions are met, has the operating temperature reached the standard boiling point of the oil? If the standard boiling point is not reached, it is necessary to determine whether it falls under the jurisdiction of the regulations by checking whether the volume of the gas phase space is greater than or equal to 0.03 cubic units. If it reaches the standard boiling point of oil, it should be governed by the regulations on solid and liquid substances.
