I would like to ask everyone why a shimming plate is needed on the nameplate of this device?
The material of the nameplate is different from that of the cylinder body
The backing plate is a heat treatment backing plate. It is for use after heat treatment followed by welding.
The work is rough; I have no idea what the design specifications require!
I don’t think it has much to do with the material.
The tolerance specifications require that welding cannot be performed directly on the equipment itself.
After heat treatment of the equipment body, if welding is performed on it again, heat treatment must be carried out once more. To avoid further heat treatment, a backing plate is first welded to the main body; welding is performed on this backing plate, so the main body does not need to undergo heat treatment.
It meets the requirements of the Solid Waste Regulations; the shims are heat-treated shims.
