Our dome-shaped storage tanks are used to store desulfurized residue oil. A layer of 100 mm thick asphalt is laid first on the foundation, followed by a layer of asphalt bricks; then two more layers of asphalt bricks with pores are placed, another layer of asphalt bricks is added on top, and finally another layer of asphalt is applied. What is the purpose and function of these four layers of asphalt bricks?
It’s similar to the principle used when renovating a bathroom at home or applying waterproofing materials on the roof
The asphalt layer is more than capable of fulfilling these three functions.
Bricklaying requires a certain height, and that height also provides waterproofing. If you go and observe, the foundation generally has a certain height.
Bricks are used to increase height, while asphalt serves primarily as a waterproofing material
As for the laying height and thickness, there are industry standards; you need to look them up on your own
It’s just ordinary red bricks, coated with a thin layer of asphalt.
