While installing the steel frame for the equipment, I encountered an issue with secondary grouting of the foundation. There is a 5 cm gap between the footplates of the steel frame and the existing foundation; that gap was used to adjust the levelness. Now, secondary grouting is required. Is it necessary to insert rebar first before using grouting material for filling that gap? The footplates of the steel frame are 500x500 in size, while the foundation is 750x750. Thank you all!
No, just use the grouting material directly
Before installation, it is necessary to level the surface by using a plumb line; once it is level, grouting can be carried out directly
Direct grouting is sufficient; use expansive cement and vibrate it internally to compact it.
Here, we usually just use grouting material for direct grouting
