The cold shock temperature of stainless steel is quite high; does it change when combined with carbon steel?
The impact energy of the composite steel plate is determined according to the requirements of the base material; the cladding steel plate serves only for corrosion resistance, so its mechanical properties are not taken into consideration.
The thermal expansion coefficients of 316L and carbon steel are different; does this mean that the cold shock temperature for carbon steel also needs to be reduced? My reactor here has a capacity of 4+35,316 L and is made of container steel; the planned feed temperature is 35 degrees, while the temperature inside the reactor is set at 250 degrees. It seems that this temperature difference doesn’t need to be considered in terms of cold shock. What do the experts think?

A 4mm thick 316L stainless steel sheet bonded to a 35mm thick container steel sheet – such is this composite steel sheet. I use a high-pressure reactor, whose vessel body is made of composite steel plate.
Is this cold shock temperature the temperature for the impact test?
For substrates not used in low-temperature conditions, low-temperature impact testing is not required; however, it is necessary that the interlayer shear strength of the composite panel be at least 210 MPa.
Should the deformation be calculated based on the temperature difference, and then the interlayer shear force be computed?
316L impact-free test, minimum applicable temperature ≥ 196°C (3.7.2); For Q345R/Q245R at this thickness, impact testing is conducted at 0°C, with the minimum operating temperature being 0°C. The operating temperature range for composite panels is determined according to 4.3.1! (GB150.2)
