I currently have a compressed air storage tank, and the client requires that a 2mm thick stainless steel lining be installed. I searched online for a long time but couldn’t find any products with a stainless steel lining; the only standard I came across was JB/TQ267-81, yet according to that standard, the lining should be 3–4mm thick. I would appreciate it if experts could advise me on which standard should be followed in this case It would be better to have specific technical requirements, thank you!

Now composite panels are used; there is no need for stainless steel lining anymore.
The owner won’t allow the use of composite panels; an inner lining is required. Do any experts have any technical requirements or specifications related to the drawings? Could you share them?
This loose lining structure can only be used for small-diameter components (such as flanges), as the lining tends to tear under pressure loads. If it must be used, the only option is to add plug welding holes. Presumably the owner is trying to save money; I can inform them about the risks associated with this structure. Composite panels aren’t much more expensive either.
Equipment made from this material should be able to be produced by most large equipment manufacturers; the MTBE reactors are made from this type of material, and many equipment manufacturers can produce them – one just needs to look for suppliers of such materials
What kind of owner is this, sigh! Is it necessary to line an air storage tank? Moreover, the method of using linings was first adopted because composite panels had not yet been produced and used on a large scale; the lining method has many disadvantages and limitations.
I’ve never seen equipment lined with stainless steel; usually, the lining for equipment is made of steel or non-metals
It’s impossible to convince the owner to use composite panels at this point; a lining structure must be used. Could someone please provide the technical requirements and implementation standards for adding weld holes?:)

If it’s a new device, it is recommended to use composite panels – it’s cost-effective; Cladding is also an option, but for a 2mm cladding layer, it is likely that welding wire will have to be used. If it’s a retrofit of old equipment, plug welding is used; there’s an old standard specification – I’ll look for it. Since your steel plate is only 2mm thick, there’s no need to meet the technical requirements for plug welding holes. Go to the workshop and find reliable welders and riveters; based on the specifications of the welding rods or wires, drill holes of several different sizes, choose the most suitable size, and then drill more holes of that same size – that’s roughly how it’s determined. In any case, a weld evaluation is required, though it might not be necessary either. :)
