When it comes to budgeting, a simple and effective approach is to measure from the center of the elbow’s axis (the point where the axes of the two straight pipe sections intersect), treating the elbow as part of the straight pipe. The error resulting from this method isn’t very large; there aren’t many elbows in pipelines, so even if there are slight measurement discrepancies, it won’t affect the overall accuracy of the budget. Budgeting isn’t about solving mathematical problems, so there’s no need for such high precision. (Unless all of your pipes are elbows.) There is a simple formula for this: for circular shapes, it’s 1.57 * R * diameter * 3.14； Square = 1.57 * R * perimeter of the square opening.
