Dear teachers: What type of weld are the jacket flanging welds and the welds on the inner cylinder? What category do the welds between the flange on the jacket head and the head of the inner cylinder belong to? What category would it fall into if it were replaced by a joint that is directly welded to the outer shell head and the inner cylinder head?
Are the welds between the jacket flange and the inner cylinder considered Class D welds? The welds between the flanged inner cover and the inner cylinder cover fall under Category D. Whether the pipe is welded directly to the outer cover and the inner cylinder cover also constitutes a weld of Category D can be found in GB/T150.1-2011, page 13, and HG/T 20583-2011, page 460
