I would like to ask whether it is acceptable to weld sheets with a thickness of 6 mm without using bevels, by employing double-sided TIG welding?
It’s too thick; neither TIG nor MIG welding can achieve sufficient penetration – it’s not possible to melt through it.
Can’t use submerged arc welding with gussets and shims?
TIG welding definitely won’t work; if you don’t want to use bevels in order to ensure full penetration, then submerged arc welding should be used. However, the welding parameters for submerged arc welding cannot be set too high either; 6 mm of plate is still relatively thin for this welding method
What does 600㎥ mean?
It’s impossible to achieve full penetration using 6mm TIG welding; even with SAW, the quality of the weld seam formed in this way isn’t very good. It is recommended to use a bevel:)

Can two welding torches weld one spot on both sides simultaneously? It seems it can be melted through
600 cubic meters, 6mm thick? What shape is it? Is it round? What’s the diameter?
Cylindrical in shape, with a watermelon-slice top; the diameter is 10m. The wall thickness is 6 mm over the upper approximately 3m height, while it is 8 mm and 10 mm thick below; bevels are provided on the plates in the lower sections
I’m not very familiar with welding. Our tanks generally have a volume of no more than 100 cubic meters; for tanks with a diameter of around 2 meters, a wall thickness of 6 mm is required
