How to choose a shaft-type lug pad?

Could someone tell me how to determine the thickness of the shaft-type lug shims? The specifications specify quite small values; a friend told me that it should not be less than 2/3 of the equipment’s wall thickness
It must be selected in accordance with the standards. Don’t think that just because it seems thin it’s unreliable; a thicker backing plate isn’t necessarily better. The thicker the backing plate, the thicker the weld seam, and the greater the local stress as well :)
