As the title suggests: 1. To roll sheet metal into a cylinder, normalizing or stress-relief heat treatment is required. Will such heat treatment alter the chemical composition and microstructure of the sheet metal (mainly affecting grain size)? 2. Heat treatment cannot change the chemical composition of metals. A normalizing temperature above Ac3 can refine the crystalline grains of the steel and improve its properties. Stress-relief heat treatment is carried out at a low temperature; it does not change the crystal grains, only reducing the processing stress.
No heat treatment will change the chemical composition; normalizing refines the grain structure, while post-weld heat treatment has little effect on the grains.

If you want to gain a comprehensive understanding, it is recommended to consult metallographic diagrams, which allow for a thorough insight into the metallographic structure of materials at different temperatures
In my understanding, as long as the heat treatment temperature is below the material’s Ac1 line, the material’s microstructure will not change.
