I want to replace the eight-shaped blind flange on the pressure pipeline – how should I choose the material for this blind flange? Is it the same as the pipeline material? Seeking advice
The material has to match; we deal with eight-character patterns
Simply select according to the corresponding flange material.
The 8-character blind flange should be made of the same material as the flange; temporary blind flanges that are used only for isolation without any pressure applied are not a concern
It is sufficient to be consistent with the flange; if the pipe material grade differs from that of the flange, then both the flange and the 8-shaped blind plate shall be of the forged material grade.
The material grade can be higher, but it must not be lower than that of the pipe flange
Generally, the material of the blind flange is the same as that of the corresponding flange; the grade of the forged material is the same, as is the quality level of the forging.
Pressure-rated blind flanges should be selected based on the material, as well as the pressure and temperature ratings. Try to choose one that matches the designed flange.
