I’m seeking advice from experts: for horizontal jacketed vessels used primarily for evaporation, when the liquid level inside the vessel is only half of its capacity, is it better to use a full jacket or a half jacket? If a full jacket is used, is the heating area still half of the container’s surface area?
The jacket is made as more than half; there’s no need to make it whole
For a horizontal pressure vessel with a jacket accounting for more than half of its volume, what method should be used to calculate its strength?
The same as for the whole unit; only the flanging needs to be taken into account, as specified in the wiring diagram following GB150
