Hello, everyone on this forum. I’ve recently encountered an issue related to the use of low-temperature butane storage tanks in cold regions, where temperatures are extremely low. Are there any specific requirements for operating such storage tanks in such conditions? What aspects should be given special attention in the design of storage tanks? Thank you all!
If carbon steel or low-alloy steel is used for the material selection, the design shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of Appendix E of GB150.3-2011; if austenitic stainless steel is used, it can be designed and manufactured according to the standards for conventional pressure vessels.
Just in terms of pressure, the operating pressure at low temperatures is very low. Materials that can withstand low temperatures should be used; for specific requirements, refer to the design specifications for low-temperature vessels outlined in HG/T20585-2011 and GB/T150.
