Horizontal containers use expansion joints, and discharge and vent ports are provided at the bottom and top as required by the process; however, I’m not sure whether it’s possible to make openings in the expansion joints, as they are unitarily formed without any ring welds. I’d like to ask everyone for advice.
The standard size is G1/2", but I need R3/4" – a larger size – to connect with a male-threaded fitting

It is not prohibited to make holes in the welds; however, 100% flaw detection is required, and meeting the second-level acceptance criteria is sufficient. Additionally, the thickness of the expansion joint is calculated to ensure that it meets the strength requirements – it does not have to be very thin. When selecting standard expansion joints as specified in the \"Pressure Vessel Wave-shaped Expansion Joints\" standard, the basic parameters of the expansion joint (such as axial stiffness, maximum displacement per wave, and allowable operating pressure) must be adjusted according to the operating conditions of the equipment, and the selection should be based on these adjusted parameters. Furthermore, when using the SW6 software for the design calculations of non-standard expansion joints, the input of data related to these expansion joints must comply with the requirements of GB 16749, in order to ensure that the design calculations yield accurate and reasonable results.
Mainly, how is opening reinforcement calculated?
There are various types of expansion joints; I’m not sure which one you mean, so it’s difficult to draw any conclusions without more information. It’s better to send a photo or a drawing.

The standard version comes with a sewage outlet
