The sealing of liquid ammonia equipment generally uses male-female connections, but are the sealing surfaces on ammonia equipment male or female? Is the sealing surface on the ammonia valve concave or convex?
In principle, all the recessed surfaces that are taken over should face upward. It is unreasonable to configure the nozzle flanges on the top or sides of the container as convex, as this configuration makes the sealing surfaces prone to damage. The pipe opening at the bottom of the container should be designed with a convex shape, which facilitates the installation and replacement of gaskets. However, the sealing surface of the pipe flange connected to the valve should match the valve.

The fixed-volume gauge only specifies requirements for the flange type of liquid ammonia equipment, as well as the material of the studs and gaskets; a raised sealing surface is also acceptable. Of course, ammonia valve flanges are mostly of the concave type (depending on the pressure rating)
