Should ethylene oxide pipelines use diaphragm pressure gauges?
Diaphragms are suitable for measuring the pressure of liquids, gases, or particulate solid media with high viscosity, tendency to crystallize, strong corrosiveness, and high temperatures. Isolation diaphragms are available in various materials to suit different corrosive media. I don’t see any rule stating that diaphragm pressure gauges must be used in epoxy ethylene systems, but it’s better to use them. As long as the pressure gauge is made of 304SS material, polytetrafluoroethylene can be used for the gasket.
A regular pressure gauge is sufficient; no diaphragm is needed, and the material should be stainless steel
