According to Sinochem News, on January 13, two hydration reactors manufactured by Nanhua Chemical Machinery Company (referred to as Nanhua Machinery) were lifted and transported to the site of Anhui Zhonghuifa New Materials Co., Ltd., in the heavy riveting and welding workshop. These two units are the largest hydration reactors used in the domestic and industrial application of this proprietary technology. Hydration reactors are widely used in applications such as gas storage and transportation, CO2 sequestration, and the synthesis of high-end chemical raw materials. However, due to their complex manufacturing processes and high technical requirements, similar ultra-large-scale devices have previously had to be imported. Each reactor in this project is 44.56 meters long, 3.8 meters in diameter, and weighs 601 tons. The manufacturing of large-scale equipment imposes extreme demands on materials, manufacturing processes, and precision control. The equipment is made of super austenitic stainless steel composite material. Although this material boasts excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability, its composite interface is prone to oxidation-related failures and degradation in mechanical properties during welding; moreover, the surfacing treatment of the flange covers poses a strict challenge to the precision of the manufacturing process. What makes things more complicated is that the device’s surface is equipped with 92 nozzles of different sizes; for each of these nozzles, it is necessary to ensure both sealing performance and structural strength. Not only is the welding workload enormous, but precise control at the micron level over the welding temperature is also required. Moreover, the error control standards for key aspects such as the straightness of the cylinder sections and their overall alignment are far stricter than those for conventional equipment. To tackle this \"tough challenge,\" Nanhua has established a full-process closed-loop control system. During the pre-production phase, the company holds specialized technical briefing meetings in advance to closely align user requirements with the characteristics of its proprietary technologies. It thoroughly analyzes the key technical challenges related to material welding and precision control, and formulates targeted process standards as well as emergency response plans. During the production phase, the container and reassembly manufacturing workshops enter \"war mode,\" adopting an innovative \"12 in, 12 out\" three-shift operation system to carry out preparations such as equipment debugging, parameter calibration, and safety inspections. At the production site, a \"one-to-one\" handover process is implemented, with thorough checks of safety reminders, temperature control data, process execution status, key welding requirements, and equipment operation conditions. While advancing production efficiently, Nanhua Machinery enhances the collaborative work mechanism among various job types, applying the concept of \"parallel construction\" throughout the entire production process. Multiple tasks such as welding, assembly, and inspection are carried out simultaneously in a coordinated manner, ensuring smooth progression of the processes while strictly adhering to each quality inspection step. Ultimately, the project passed all tests in one go: takeover welding, overall ring weld welding, and hydrostatic testing.
