The design pressure is 0.7 MPa, and the pressure difference is 0.5 MPa. Is the pressure difference that high? Take a look at the pressure drop in the tube side in the process calculation sheet
What to do without a process calculation sheet? What pressure value is appropriate? Are there any tips?
Personal opinion for reference only: 1. Ask the customer to provide it and have them find a way to give it to you. 2. Calculate the maximum allowable pressure difference based on your current 8mm value, indicate it on the drawings, and have the customer confirm it in order to avoid taking any responsibility yourself.
When no specific pressure difference is specified in the process, for heat exchangers we generally use 0.05 MPA, which is equivalent to a water head of 5 meters
The pressure difference can’t be that large, right? It feels like there’s an order of magnitude more. The pressure difference on the 5th floor is still pretty much the same. Compare the thickness calculated based on the pressure difference on the 5th floor with the standard recommended thickness, and select the larger value.
