According to the TSG 07 standards, the requirements for non-destructive testing personnel as specified in the Class D manufacturing certificate for pressure vessels are: 2 persons each for RT, UT, MT, and PT. However, according to the requirements of the Code for Large Ducts, RT and UT are mutually recognized for flaw detection. Can we do without UT in this case?
No. Because steel plates sometimes require ultrasonic testing, which is essential for the production of pressure vessels. But your company can also find a company with ultrasonic capabilities to sign an outsourcing agreement.
There should be at least two people, with each holding four level-2 certificates. One of them can serve as the person in charge of the lossless quality control system.
There can be as few as one person, holding four level-2 certificates, who serves as the responsible party; the actual flaw detection work is carried out by an external flaw detection company, as long as there is a relevant agreement in place.
For outsourcing, does my company still need to have someone with these 4 types of certificates?
