I’m not very familiar with the process of lining steel tanks with plastic. I would like to ask the experts: can a vertical cylindrical storage tank with dimensions Φ5200X5200 and a flat-bottomed arch-shaped roof be lined with plastic? If possible, how is this lining process carried out? I checked some information and found that rotational molding is required, but aren’t vertical cylindrical storage tanks installed on site? How can they be molded by rotational molding then? I’d like to ask the experts~ What aspects should be taken into account regarding technical requirements? Are there any **or industry standards or something?
What is the purpose of using steel lining for plastic in your case? Is it for corrosion prevention? In our Shengli Oilfield, we use vertical cylindrical storage tanks with fiberglass linings; it’s probably similar to what you’re referring to with steel-lined plastic tanks. For these fiberglass linings, we first construct the storage tank, then carry out sandblasting to remove rust, and after that apply a fiberglass lining as an anti-corrosion layer using a vacuum forming process. The thickness of this anti-corrosion layer is 3 millimeters or more. I’m not entirely familiar with the specific details of this process, but I hope this information is helpful to you.
The tank needs to be heated to over 200°C for the construction. The problem is that transporting it at this diameter is too difficult. Why must it be plastic? Fiberglass is so much more convenient.
