Equipment opening 200, external sleeve 300 – how to calculate the reinforcement for the opening
Is reinforcement needed if the inner and outer sides of the shell are under the same pressure?
The effective length of the DN300 fitting can serve as the reinforcement area for the DN200 fitting
It should be DN300. After all, with the 200 model, there isn’t really any pressure difference between the inside and outside
It can be considered using a DN300 flanged connection; I’ve encountered a similar structure on a head before as well: lol
The inner cylinder is not under pressure; only the outer cylinder counts.
Calculations for reinforcement through openings are considered based on DN300 pipes; for DN200 pipes, pressure is balanced on both sides of the opening, and it constitutes a structural element.
All the deaerators I work on have this structure, and to this day there isn’t a proper solution for it. Yet, the equipment manufactured in this way is safe regardless of the calculation methods used, and no problems have ever occurred. The same is true for several companies in the vicinity that manufacture similar equipment.
