I’ve been in this field for almost 25 years; just 5 years after starting work, I began creating design drawings for individual clients (who would then take them to a company to have them stamped officially). Many people did this kind of thing 20 years ago； It could be considered freelance work; a set of ordinary floating heads costs between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan. There was a lot of work back then, and I wasn’t idle even at night. As I’ve gotten older, I can no longer draw; I haven’t done any drawing work for others for many years. Recently, I heard about the current market conditions in design – someone will take on a task of creating an ordinary floating head design for just 500 yuan. I asked several colleagues in the industry, and they said it’s more or less the same situation. What’s happening to the chemical equipment industry? I feel like crying. . . Note: I saw a comment below saying that college students can draw CAD diagrams; let me explain what I mean by \"design\". For example, if someone comes to you and says, \"Hey, design a hypochlorous acid dechlorination tank for a sodium production plant with a capacity of 5 cubic meters.\" 20 years ago, this would have cost 2,000 yuan, but now it can be done for 500 yuan. . . . . Although it doesn’t require much technical skill, it still demands a great deal of experience and industry knowledge
The head is a standard part; is it necessary to draw it? What kind of end cap?
Ah! A person who works with dry equipment is simply a draftsman; the difference lies only in whether the draftsman is young or old. I won’t say it! I need to go draw quickly.
It’s all because of poverty; only the wealthy don’t bother with design, let alone CAD
It’s indeed a bit useless; working on equipment design in a manufacturing factory might be slightly better.
Most of these aren’t drawn by the people themselves either; they use images from others or from their own company. It feels like they are selling stolen works at low prices. Some people in the design industry indeed lack moral integrity, and if this continues, it could destroy the design industry as a whole, causing a regression in design work across the board. At present, it seems to be opportunities for some private enterprises to thrive; it’s likely money theft resulting from unfair competition.
The same is true for process engineers; the prices are much lower than before
Single-sheet drawings definitely won’t work; the salary of draftsmen is very low. If you deal with custom parts and move in the direction of automation, things will be much easier for you. I’m waiting for you guys: lol
