Is welding required for the outer coil of the equipment?

We deal in chemical processing equipment. Some of these devices have coils on their exterior, and they are simply secured to the container wall using metal hooks. Is it necessary to use welding techniques for joining those coils together? Please, teachers, share your thoughts. Thank you. I never did this before, but the drawings require radiographic testing and also specify a joint number, so I feel there’s a reason either way to do it.
Inspection of pressure vessels does not involve reviewing documents related to non-pressure components. For the external coil, it generally depends on the customer’s requirements; the technical agreement specifies that relevant manufacturing documents (welding records, inspection reports) must be submitted. If the customer is quite strict in their requirements (with an on-site supervisor), it’s best to prepare a welding procedure sheet to help the quality control department organize the necessary documents.
