Hello, Sea Friends! My project features two fixed-roof storage tanks; in accordance with the design specifications, fire foam liquid level control tanks are installed inside the pipes, while a single circuit of fire foam piping is provided outside the tanks. A vertical low-expansion foam generator is used, with a flexible metal hose installed at the connection between the horizontal pipe and the vertical pipe. As shown in the picture. There are two questions now. First: What is the purpose and function of installing a metal hose? Secondly, 50 mm above the flange opening of the vertical low-expansion foam generator, there are 4 DN10 mm holes arranged symmetrically in pairs, which means that the inlet pipe of the foam generator is in an open state. What is the reason for this, and does it affect the functioning of the foam generator? When the foam generator arrived at the construction site, the contractor only carried out unpacking inspections of the materials, checking their appearance and quality certification documents as well as the technical documents, without conducting any relevant tests. An air foam generator needs to draw in air while in operation, so it should have an open end. The hose primarily prevents the standpipe from sinking along with the storage tank, as well as compensating for thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline.
The foam is injected into the tank from the outside; don’t these holes make it easy for leaks to occur?
Maintain gas-phase equilibrium in the channel to prevent pipeline vibration caused by gas blockage.
1. The software is used to prevent the tank from sinking. 2. It’s open, meaning that air needs to be drawn in when the generator is in operation.
1. There are regulations regarding the use of hoses, and their purpose is to prevent settlement. 2. A foam generator cannot produce foam if no air is mixed in
Okay, received! Thank you all!
Okay, thank you! Is it necessary to conduct a performance test on the pipes of the fire foam system before its official acceptance? Isn’t it clear enough in the specifications?
