This post was last edited by Douwan on 2017-11-14 at 11:18. Due to various reasons related to design and construction, some funny yet frustrating incidents have occurred in a certain project. It’s just an example and a discussion, meant merely to inform individuals and fellow professionals in this industry, and not directed at any specific design or construction company. Figure 1 shows the manhole of a certain device; platform design was not taken into account during the design phase, and it was discovered during on-site construction that the manhole was essentially useless. (The equipment is made of 304 material, and no stainless steel gaskets were used when welding the platform to the equipment.) In Figure 2, the manhole of another piece of equipment does not take into account the position of the internal hangers relative to the manhole, which prevents people from entering it. In Figure 3, it’s unclear what the purpose of bending the pipes in that way is Figure 4 shows the patterned steel plate used for the platform steps; the design requirement was bending, and that’s what was done on site. Figure 5 shows that the bolt holes of the custom-made flanges on the equipment do not align properly. Figure 6: What is the function of this expansion joint at the right end? Let the master clarify it for us
The installation was done without considering maintenance and usage, resulting from a disconnect in management
Only the first picture can be viewed. Such a design is intoxicating
The key is the issue of responsibility...
Oh? Is that so? I’ll edit it again then
Only the first picture can be viewed. With such a design, there may be no technicians or operators on site, allowing installation workers to carry out the installation as they see fit.
What about now? Can you see it all? HaiChuan’s servers have been very unstable lately. The presence of these problems shown in the diagram demonstrates a unit’s actual capabilities, including aspects such as design skills and general contracting management proficiency.
The last one was caused by having too much money.
It is mainly a matter of the overall level of the general contractor. There are definitely problems with the design, but poor on-site management has led to further issues; there are numerous flaws in procurement, construction, installation, operation, and so on.
The poster said “experiencing the general contracting work of a certain project” – could it be issues related to the same project? It’s not easy either when we all run into each other at the same time!
