In the hydrogen production plant, the inlet and outlet temperatures of the conversion gas steam generator for the conversion gas are 890 degrees and 250 degrees respectively. The lining of the tube banks on both sides is 200 mm thick; high-purity Al2O3 hollow sphere lightweight heat-resistant concrete is used for this lining. Is it necessary to add lining guards made of S31008 material after the lining is installed?
A double-layer lining can be used, and guard plates are not required.
There’s no need to add it, right? If it’s added, will it still be needed as a lining? Should it be added after applying the lining? ?
Since the converted gas slows down in velocity once it enters the waste heat boiler, there is no need to worry too much about erosion of the refractory materials by the airflow; therefore, it is not necessary to install 310S protective plates inside the tube banks of the waste heat boiler. However, it is essential to ensure high-quality surface preparation when pouring the refractory castables. Additionally, during shutdown, nitrogen purging should be used in the later stages of cooling to prevent water from causing damage.
Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to use lined guards; the cast materials are all hand-tamped, usually divided into several sections, and it’s not possible to create guards for them. Based on actual operational results, the airflow has little impact on the erosion of the casting material
Not only is it necessary, but anti-scouring components must also be installed on the liner guards of the cylinder liner and those of the tube sheet; many units have encountered problems in these areas.
The reformer off-gas boilers we design are equipped with S31008 protective linings, and the inlet ends of the heat exchange tubes also have protective sleeves.
