There is a tower made of stainless steel composite plates that requires post-weld heat treatment. By checking the standards (9.1.8.1 in NB/T47015), it was found that when performing post-weld heat treatment on stainless steel, it is necessary to prevent the formation of chromium carbides in both the stainless steel base material and the welded joints. The temperature used for post-weld heat treatment in this equipment falls within the sensitization range of stainless steel (600–1000°C). Therefore, should my post-weld heat treatment procedure avoid this temperature range?
It needs to be avoided, otherwise it will affect the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
In NB/T47015-2011, note 2) in Table 6 applies to the Fe-1-1 and Fe-1-2 groups. Does this mean that for my heat-treated products belonging to these groups, I must reduce the temperature by 80°C or 110°C, while the reductions of 30°C and 55°C mentioned above cannot be used for the Fe-1-1 and Fe-1-2 groups?
The heat treatment parameters are determined according to the requirements of the base material, while also taking into account the properties of the cladding material. When selecting materials for the cladding and determining the welding processes, sensitivity issues must be given priority consideration.
The sensitization temperature for stainless steel should be between 450 and 850 degrees, with 650 degrees being particularly dangerous. Post-weld heat treatment is to relieve stress, right? Material selection is crucial for products that require heat treatment.
Is there a possibility of delamination in the composite plate after heat treatment?
