The equipment’s own weight is 152 tons. Since the equipment comes equipped with water tanks, two additional supports that raise its height by 1500 mm need to be placed under the saddle during shipping (these are used only during transportation). I would like to ask what thickness is appropriate for the bottom plate, top plate, and reinforcement plates of these additional supports, as well as how the reinforcement plates should be arranged. Without changing the height of the saddle, an additional lifting support must be installed under it; it is used only during shipping, and once it is in place at the site, no further elevation is needed.

The dynamic load during transportation is calculated as 1.5 to 2 times the equipment’s empty weight, plus the static load due to the tension in the ropes. The issue is that with this 1500mm increase in height, the equipment is prone to being too tall, requiring routes for transportation to avoid many areas with height or width restrictions. It’s better to make the transport saddle as low as possible.
With this estimate, he aims to avoid the need for lifting equipment when loading and unloading, by having the flatbed truck enter from the middle.
Thank you for the reply. We are in the shipping business, and our cargo does not exceed the height limit. I’m new to this field, and I’m not a designer, so I don’t understand these things. I am considering using the load values for lightweight saddles as specified in NB/T47065.1-2018 for DN2900 saddle-type supports; I plan to use 16 mm thick plates for the top and bottom sections of the raised supports, and 10 mm thick plates for the reinforcement strips. Do you think this is feasible?
Instead of using axis vehicle roll-on/roll-off, lifting is used.
Unified reply: Thank you all for your responses. The master has returned from his business trip. I asked him for advice, and the solution he suggested was to use 12mm thick panels throughout, remove the middle part of the supports, keep the height unchanged, and use 4 supports in total.
