For the external pressure length of a jacketed vessel, is it sufficient to calculate only the length covered by the jacket shell, or is it necessary to first verify the moment of inertia of the closed loop? The support conditions must be met
150.3 is explained; furthermore, the closed loop itself is determined through calculation, as shown in Figure D.23
If the jacket has a head, the external pressure generated by that head must also be taken into account, and the length needs to be increased; for details, refer to the section on external pressure calculation in GB/T150.
The closed loop does not require verification of the moment of inertia.
