Since the steaming tank was suddenly hit by heavy rain, one side of the 3,000-liter tank collapsed over a horizontal distance of about 10 meters; two layers of plates with a thickness of 6 mm to 8 mm sank inward by 1.6 meters. I would like to know methods for using mechanical force to help restore it to its original state.

If it is a pressure vessel that falls under controlled equipment, it is likely necessary to scrap it; or, if repaired, a new usage permit must be obtained, and this must be done by a qualified entity. For a regular container, all deformed parts must be removed, and new plates must be fitted, shaped, and welded in place to make up for them. If it does not affect usage, it is best to continue using it; if you are not sure, this is just for reference.
This is a lesson: when designing large steam boilers, one must consider not only the internal pressure but also the negative pressure that results from sudden shutdowns and the cooling and condensation of steam.
For such large-scale equipment, it is unlikely that the effects of stiffness and external pressure can be taken into account, as doing so would incur excessive costs.
