One of the existing machines is needed to produce product test pieces, and unfortunately the current welding procedure qualification does not cover this either. Is it possible to use a single test piece to conduct tests for two different items? Are there any relevant standards or specifications that support or explicitly oppose it? It’s definitely not possible. If there is no process evaluation that can be used as a basis, a process evaluation must be carried out first; only after that procedure is completed can welding begin. The product test pieces are used to verify the welding quality of that particular product, and these two purposes are different – they cannot be combined.

Welding can be carried out on the product only after the weld evaluation is successful.
First, conduct a weld assessment; then discuss the welding process; after that, carry out welding to produce weld test plates. Therefore, the two sets of test plates that need to be produced cannot be skipped.
