For the production and certification upgrades of pressure vessels D1, D2 to levels A1, A2, using drawings from an external design firm, is it necessary to keep review records for the welding process? If so, what needs to be done? Are there any similar tables?
I don’t quite understand how the original poster could ask such a question.
The Special Inspection Agency mentioned this matter; we haven’t done it here before, so we’re not sure what the procedure will be
Foreign patterns require a processability review
Foreign drawings must undergo a process review and records must be kept.
I know that there are records of contract reviews to check; if I’m not confident enough, I think I can create a review form, with just the welding supervisor and the quality assurance engineer, along with other managers, signing off in agreement. When the design documents are provided by an external party, these documents are sampled for inspection to determine whether they comply with the relevant safety technical specifications as well as the control requirements set out in the quality assurance system documents for external design documents; furthermore, it is verified that the persons responsible for the design have carried out the necessary confirmation procedures. Welding procedure qualification and welding processes: Based on the characteristics of the approved projects and the records of sampled products (equipment), it is necessary to examine whether the welding procedure specifications (WPS), welding procedure qualification reports (PQR) (including welding records, inspection and testing reports, etc.), welding process cards, welding procedure qualification test specimens, as well as the welding records of products (equipment) meet the following requirements: (1) The welding procedure specifications, welding procedure qualification reports, and welding process cards must comply with the relevant safety technical regulations and corresponding standards ; (2) The items, quantity, methods, procedures for welding process evaluation, inspection and testing, storage of test specimens, as well as the preparation, review, and approval of welding process evaluation reports are in compliance with the regulations; the items covered by the welding process evaluation include all the welding processes required for welding special equipment ; (3) The preparation, review, approval, distribution, use, and modification of welding procedure documents comply with relevant regulations. Hope this helps!
