Are there any standard specifications regarding the location of openings on pressure vessels for installing pressure gauges? No relevant standards found!
I’m not sure about the specifications, but since the pressure is highest at the top of the container, openings are made right at the very top
If it is in the phase space, it should be placed within that phase space to prevent fluctuations in liquid level from affecting the measurement results. If condensation is involved, a phase change medium is needed, and it should not be too far from the inlet.

It can be installed in the gas phase space; if there is a liquid phase inside the tank, care must be taken to ensure that the liquid medium does not enter the pressure gauge pipeline. As for the claim that it is installed at the top, it is likely because the working pressure specified in the standards refers to the pressure at the highest point at the top. And in the gas phase, the pressure at the top is the same as the pressure in the gas phase space. There is no need to install a top specifically for this purpose; it is better to place it in a location that is easily visible to the observer.
The pressure gauge port on horizontal containers is located at the highest point above; this is generally specified in the standard design requirements
As an additional note, for vertical equipment used to store gases, it can be mounted on the wall; in the case of on-site pressure gauges, their height should be such that reading them is convenient.
