I see that the material requirement specified in the standards is Q235A or higher; can galvanized pipes be used for straight ladders? Are there any potential issues with welding them?
If money isn’t a concern, then why not? The performance of 20# steel is superior to that of Q235A in all aspects, including price. :lol
In accordance with the **latest standards for safety requirements regarding steel ladders and platforms, the mechanical properties of the steel used for guardrails and steel platforms must be at least equivalent to those of Q235-B, and a certificate confirming the appropriate carbon content is required. Therefore, whether a galvanized pipe can be used depends not on whether it is galvanized or not, but on the mechanical properties of its base material and the certificate confirming its carbon content.
The standard you are using is the old one, which has been discontinued; the 2016 version of the new standard should be used instead. Q235-A cannot be used in the new standard.

Welding galvanized pipes generates a lot of smoke, which is harmful to the operator’s protective equipment. As for pressure resistance, it depends on whether the material can withstand the local low temperatures.
