Flow meter flange, with an additional hole on one side of the flange. Why?
Thrust bolt hole: used to screw in the thrust bolt when removing the flange, in order to push the flange apart
Pivoting hole: used to push the two flanges apart during disassembly
This is a set screw hole; this bolt actually functions as a set screw, designed to prevent the equipment from being easily disassembled over time. By using this set screw, it is possible to push the two flanges apart. This hole is usually present on the heat exchanger tube box flange.
