Should the central drain valve of a floating roof tank be set to open in case of an accident or to close? When there is no wind, should the valve be open or closed? Are there any requirements or standards in this regard?
Open when it rains, keep closed otherwise! It’s the same principle as the rainwater drainage in the tank area!
Why aren’t drain valves designed as float valves? Its main function is to drain water when it rains, and a float valve can solve this problem – the float valve opens when it’s raining and closes when there’s no rain; isn’t that great? Is there any other use?
